Remarketing

Remarketing is one of today’s most complex, but also most effective means of leveraging Pay-Per-Click platforms.

Using Remarketing, we can reach consumers who visited your site, but did not complete a desired action, such as an on-line purchase or signing up for your free newsletter.

Remarketing is a feature that lets you reach people who have previously visited your site, and show them relevant ads when they visit other sites participating in the program. When people leave your site without buying anything, for example, remarketing helps you connect with these potential customers while they browse other websites. You can even show them a compelling message or offer that will encourage them to return to your site and complete a purchase.

How does it work? We add a piece of code (remarketing tag) to all of the pages of your website. Then, when shoppers come to your site, they will be added to the remarketing lists we create for you. We can then reach these potential buyers on your behalf while they browse other websites.

Here’s an Example:

Let’s say you sell organic treats for dogs and cats. We’ll place a tag across your entire website and then create a remarketing list called “Dog Treats.”  When a consumer is searching online for keywords relevant to your organic pet treats, they will see your Google platform ads.  They see your ad, click on it and visit your website.  For some reason, they don’t make a purchase at this time and leave your site.  Now, using our Remarketing program, they will see your ads regarding organic dog treats when they are visiting one of thousands of participating websites.

PPC FAQs

Q? What does PPC mean?
A. PPC stands for pay-per-click, which is the way most online marketing programs are charged; you pay when someone clicks on your ad to find out more information. To ensure you get the best ROI on your programs, it is therefore important that your ads are targeted to consumers that would be most interested in purchasing your product or service.  This is done through preliminary research, proper ad development, and through optimizing your campaign for targeting and tracking.
Q? How does a PPC campaign work?
A. Your ad enters into a bidding process with other advertisers whenever a consumer enters a search term that matches your list of keywords associated with one of your ads. In microseconds, the search engines determine which ads will be shown based on a variety of factors. Your account is then charged each time a user is interested enough in your ad to click on it. When they do, they are taken to a designated page on your website. The amount that you’ll pay is dependent on a preset “maximum bid”, which is entered as the highest amount you are willing to spend for each click. To properly optimize a campaign, it takes research, marketing knowledge, software tools and time.
Q? Where will my ads appear?
A. Depending on which package you choose, your ads can show up on the search results pages of basically every major search engine, including Google, Yahoo and Bing. On the search results pages in all of these search engines, there are two types of listings; ads and organic results. The ads appear on the top and along the right hand side of the page and the organic results are listed on the main body of the page along the left. Organic results are determined by the search engines’ complex algorithms. Improving results in the organic links is known as Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and managing the ads is known as PPC Management. JC Marketing, a full-service, integrated marketing agency, excels in both of these areas. In addition to the search engine pages, your ads can show up on relevant websites, based on the targeting options we select on your behalf. We also offer PPC management on Facebook and LinkedIn.
Q? When can I start to see results?
A. Very Quickly! Our first step is to have a conversation with you, so that we can gain an understanding of your target market, the products or services you want to feature, and your budget. Our team then goes to work on your behalf to identify the best keywords, develop engaging ad content, and setup your targeted campaigns. Typically, we have our client’s campaigns up and running within a matter of days.
Q? How much do I have to pay when someone “Clicks” on my ad?
A. As part of our PPC Management program, we’ll set your maximum bid, which is the maximum amount you are willing to pay each time somebody clicks on your ad. This maximum “bid”, combined with a myriad of other factors – including the relevance of your ad copy, the structure of your campaign and the competition for that keyword – determine exactly what you end up paying and in what position your ad will appear. We work hard to keep your average cost-per-click as low as possible, and you’ll find that your average cost per click will be lower than your maximum bid amount.
Q? I have a small business. Can I afford PPC?
A. Yes you can!  In fact, PPC campaigns allow small businesses to level the playing field with larger companies.  An optimized PPC campaign can have your ads shown above those of the national companies, while still providing a low average cost per click. You determine your budget and JC Marketing works to get you the most for your ad dollar. Q? What PPC search engines do you work with?
A. JC Marketing manages PPC campaigns in Google AdWords and Microsoft AdCenter which cover over 99% of the search traffic in the US. These search engines power the PPC advertising in Google, Yahoo, Bing and many others. JC Marketing also manages ads in non-search based PPC platforms such as Facebook, Linked-In and others.
Q? What are your costs? Is it expensive?
A. Our PPC management fees are extremely affordable, and are based on your monthly ad spend, with prices beginning at a low $89 per month. We keep our management fee separate from your ad budget, so that you always know what your investment is going towards. We have no hidden fees. Q? What does campaign optimization mean?
A. PPC campaign optimization refers to the process of making incremental changes to a campaign in order to increase the effectiveness of your ads, resulting in the highest ROI possible. The incremental changes include ongoing keyword identification and analysis, ad copy testing, bid management, data analysis and much more. For each of our clients, our goal is to identify and expand upon the components of a campaign that are providing the highest return on investment and cut out the components of a campaign that are performing  poorly. Optimization is an ongoing process as new tools and products are made available and the marketplace changes with time and new competition.
Q? Can I change my budget?
A. You bet! Your budget is entirely fluid and can be adjusted on a monthly basis.  In fact, if your campaigns meet their allocated monthly budget prior to the end of the month, we’ll contact you to see if you want to increase your budget for that month, or if you’d rather let the campaign sit in idle mode until the first of the next month.  At any time we can allocate a higher percentage of your overall campaign to a particular element of your campaign, reduce your monthly budget, or as you see a return on your initial investment, increase your monthly budget.
Q? What if I want to add new ads for different products or services?
A. Our goal is for your PPC campaign to drive the results you’re looking for.  If you add services or products, or want to emphasize a certain aspect of your business, simply give us a call.  Your PPC manager will update your online campaign, using the same steps we take when we initially setup your campaign.  We’ll analyze the competition, identify the most relevant keyword phrases for your new ads, and develop effective ad content.
Q? What reporting do I receive?
We provide campaign performance reporting on a monthly basis.  You will receive a summary of campaign activity, including impressions, clicks, cost per click ad performance and keyword performance.
Q? What do you do that I can’t do myself?
Honestly, nothing…if you want to spend the time and resources to become an expert in PPC. You can open an account with Google AdWords or Microsoft adCenter and run campaigns yourself, however to optimize your ROI it requires extensive, ongoing analysis and the expertise of understanding the nuances of the various interfaces and the marketplaces. Q? Once you setup my PPC campaigns, what do you do?
To get the highest return on your investment, your campaign needs to be constantly watched, tested and improved. We analyze each ad for ways to improve results, and watch for trends in emerging keyword phrases.  Additionally, at your request we will add new ad groups to feature new products or services and adjust your budget settings. Further, your keyword bids require adjustment in order to adapt to changes in the marketplace, seasonal shifts and many other factors.
